This way, with never-ending map we can always get something to look for. New "chunks" of map can be generated on demand, when some player encounters them for the first time. Since this is 2D game with hardly any verticality, this should be relatively easy to code (I'm a game developer too, though not versed in JS/HTML5, more of a desktop guy)..
