Okay so this is gonna be a wall of text and I want to apologize for that right now. I'll do my best to format this as best as possible so that it will be easy to read. First off I want to state that I've put a considerable about of time into the game already, almost 50 hours I want to say.
The game so far I can't really complain about, it's fantastic in my opinion and really brings back some nostalga from the Ultima Online days and their previous games, as well as some notable mentions like Baulders Gate etc. As the title says, I'm going to break this suggestion topic into three sections, starting with Random Events.
Suggestion: So after playing for awhile, it's hard to ignore the fact that things are repetitive. I'm not aware whether there are plans to implement "random events" (I'll explain in more detail about this real soon), but I feel it would distract a bit from the genaric gameplay which I feel will deter a lot of potential players.
PvE Sieges, attacks on player dominiums.
Rare treasure spawns, maybe have a global annoucement every once and awhile where players can compete for a rare drop. Maybe have some sort of lore behind this?
Dungeon. cave encouters. I think it would be cool to be exploring either with myself or a friend and have a special cave/dungeon encounter where we can decide to ignore it or proceed into them.
Suggestion: Obviously the main objective is survival, but I have to be honest when I say it doesn't feel too super rewarding, nor does it feel like there are many penalties for things, like death. But above all else, I feel there's a lot of missing mechanics that are greatly needed. What I mean by objectives, things that motivate players to play. So far our clear objective is to build our own settlements, "dominiums". But there is no clear reward in my opinion, things are super easy to get, everyone can have pretty much everything in game. I would like to see more love for things like, trading, now I'm not sure how this could be acomplished, but there seems to be an abundance of resources everywhere. If you're going to create a semi realistic game why not find creative ways to engage people in other objective based gameplay besides PvP. Making resources more scarce, for instance having "regions" where iron is common; like in mountian areas. Just one example...
Some form of an economy
Suggestion: This sort of ties into the above suggestion "More Objectives". Depending on the scale in which you want for this game to go. I feel that there needs to be a system for politcal mechanics.
Laws that vary depending on dominiums i.e: "stealing punishable by death"
Taxes, maybe a labor system for players who're interested only in building or having some sort of trade within a dominium.
Okay so there you have it. I would love to see lots of replies and hear other feedback on these examples I've put out. I have a ton more, but thought I would just start with this.
