It is a difficult task, I'd say. You shouldn't have any challenge or fear of death and loosing items, because animals don't t kill because of low damage and players could not even harm you. You kill a bear with one arrow and you get plenty of iron being at home. Well, I stated this topic to get known about how to make a game a little easier, but it seems you need completely another game. Well, we'll try to make it! :)
What is/was really difficult and annoying in game?
Thats not what I'm saying..
RL one arrow can kill a bear, boar, deer, rabbit, partridge (even a person). But with the first three its a not an easy shot especially for the unskilled. Even worse, you have to get close for it to be effective, they recommend around 50 Yards or so.
No ones asking for iron to be at your home, were curious about the fact you place it in pvp region and there only. Strange that you can find copper, coal and tin in pvp areas as well as in pve lands but not iron (much like the looser game eve where all the good stuff was in the lowest law areas were you get pk'd and podded).
And whats wrong with killing a bear with 1 arrow, christ they generally kill me with one hit (even a bear cub).
We are not saying we want it to be easier, just a bit more honest and fair for players not interested in pvp (which is why were on a pve server). I can deal with one shot bears killing me, but seriously wolf cubs and bear cubs being red and over 20th level.
i dont think we need to make the game as real as possible. I think fun and competition comes before reality. We can be soo creative with this game, we must not be chained to the real world.
So yeah, lets make bears hard to kill, this is a game after all.
@Pinochle Final thought from me. I was wrong, completly wrong. This game is fantastic just as it is as far as I am concerned. I can imagine myself riding my pig naked through PvP area with my pack empty except for a stone pickaxe and some bandages as fast as I can, smacking an iron node once and running back my ten minute ride to my home for every iron node collection. It will be intense, fun, and if killed by another player they can keep my rock pickaxe. Thanks for a great adventure.
@Pinochle i think you are wondering too much about that, when you start mining iron you will see its easier than it looks. Disputed lands is a huge area, not soo easy to find players there and even if someone wants to kill you, you can always survive time enought to run off to the safe area, unless you are at low hp cause of the mobs in the area.
@Pinochle we don't have any items in a game which could stop player. Only bolas and it only slows. And there are only about 10 player who could kill you even if you try to escape. All of them play on hardcore pvp server - Vitios. In other words, if you don't wont to fight and get killed, you will simply walk away and nobody could stop you. On Paceum (eu pve) people don't even think to get Iron without Iron tools 140+ quality. Nobody afraid of being killed. It is pve after all, people who play here don't want to fight.
I agree that splitting people up would be a bad idea. The current server population is not enjoyable. It's too underpopulated. Currently would say that it could easily be 100 to 200% more populated comfortably.
I have a suggestion about the iron issue. I'm dealing with this issue myself now. It is VERY difficult, time consuming and tedious to acquire in any sufficient amount to be useful without getting older too fast.
The game has something called "Raw Iron Ore", you can find it in the Crafting menu to turn it into "Iron Ore" which is the same as what the Iron Deposits provide. The issue here is, I don't see "Raw Iron Ore" in the game anywhere. A great solution to increasing resources might be to add actual MINES.
It seems like this may have already been a possibility considering the wording of the item. "Process raw iron ore from the mines". What mines? lol
PvP/PvE - IT does seem unreasonable to require that players enter a PvP area on a PvE server to acquire necessary items. That's the whole point of having two servers. One for PvE and one for PvP. I like the idea of the guild "war" concept and being able to fight with other players over castles but it should not come at a cost to the player to do so.
@Dilligaf Raw iron ore can be obtained on mines on PvP servers only. It's highly competitive content. And yes we understood all we needed. We got enough feedbacks. We will post soon complete info about release plans, servers merges and their configuration based on all feedbacks we got. Pretty sure that will solve ALL problems written above and will make game more convenient for both hardcore and casual players.
