I was curious to know what the penetrating blow would be, because the description of the patch notes is not very clear.
as I play on a pve server I went to test on the dreameter.
me and a member of the guild went to the corrupted area and found a lv 72 dreameter . The first blow that hit the guild member was a penetrating blow (59 damage) he was still on the mount and walked away.
So I went fight the npc, get out of the mount and hit him, I managed to avoid the first two attacks (parry and block) but the third I was hit and guess what, was a penetrating blow of 85 damage.
so I discovered that the penetrating blow is a type of damage that ignores all of our defense (me and the guild member have 80% defense with heavy armor).
I do not know if it was tested before, but giving this kind of skill to a npc that can give hit 90+ damage is not a good idea.
me and my guild besides spending the knowledge of craftsman and the battle focus we like to do others activities (treasures, killing bears and the dreameter).
but now it is impossible to kill the dreameter.
I usually dont complain about npcs because I know that the developers believe that they are too easy to kill.
But the truth is that few people on my server can kill these "raids boss"
I have never complained for example that monsters in the corrupted land have no cooldown in their abilities (they can dodge various hits in sequence and can apply 2 stun / slow / poison in sequence - these debuffs are applied even when you can dodge or block their attacks).
not to mention that when more than one person attacks an animal or monster it seems that his attack speed increases (the other day I was killing a bear with 2 more people and it seemed that he attacked us practically at the same time, faster than a knife atk speed) and the lag increases and the npcs teleports.
if you do not want people kill the dreameter it is easier remove it from the game.
it is the only thing worth killing in the corrupted zone, not because the reward is good, but because the chance of get something is 100%.
I already complained in the post that I did about the archers been not very useful in pve and I will say again, the chance to get something from the monsters of the corrupted land are very low, and does not even take into account the difficulty of killing the monster.
for example we were in the corrupt land and we killed several archers, alchemists and barguest lv 40+ and did not receive any drop, then we go and kill a lv 15 rat and get a key from him.
in my opinion the drops of the corrupted zone are not even attractive. I think there should be an incentive for the players to go there. Maybe items needed to craft importat things
